Home Ed Classes
I currently have 3 regular groups that meet in the daytime, on weekdays. These are offered at a reduced rate, as the groups are targeted at children in the home educating community. However, if you are outside of this community but interested in joining a class, please don't hesitate to get in touch; there are people of all ages in these classes!
The group size for these classes is currently limited to 3.

Where?
All classes happen at my studio in Wilderness Wood. This is one of the oldest structures in the wood, and has been loved and used for many years. It used to be the wood workshop, but 3 years ago I moved in and began to transform it into the pottery that it is today.

Who?

Who can do the classes? Anyone! I have taught adults of all ages, and children as young as 6 the basics of throwing. If your child is too young to access the wheel (often for height reasons), there is a lot of fun to be had with hand building. I have even accommodated a student who had a 1 year old baby with her. Everyone is welcome and should be able to learn.

Who will teach the classes? Me. I am a PGCE trained teacher (I used to teach Maths and Philosophy in schools), with over 10 years of teaching experience, and have been throwing for 9 years now.

What?

These classes give you a bit more depth, covering everything from wedging the clay to glazing the finished pieces. If you want to book a taster session, please see the general throwing classes page. You can also keep work that you make each week, within reason!
