Beginner’s Pottery Throwing Workshop

Sunday 29th March 2026

A focused full-day workshop designed for beginners who have had a little experience on the wheel and want to strengthen their foundations.

Time: 10:00am – 4:00pm (with a lunch break — please bring a packed lunch)

Cost: £100 per person

Spaces: 3 (only 1 remaining)

The day will focus on throwing cylinders, bowls, and other simple forms, helping participants build confidence, control, and consistency.

All materials are provided. Greenware can be taken home on the day, or pieces can be bisque fired and glazed for a small additional fee*. Tea and biscuits are included :)

How do I book?

Send me an email at: y.suissa@live.co.uk

or

Text/Whatsapp me on: 07895843633

Where?

All classes happen at my studio in Wilderness Wood. This is one of the oldest structures in the wood, and has been loved and used for many years. It used to be the wood workshop, but 3 years ago I moved in and began to transform it into the pottery that it is today.

Who?

Who will teach the classes? Me. I am a PGCE trained teacher (I used to teach Maths and Philosophy in schools), with over 10 years of teaching experience, and have been throwing for 9 years now.

*If you would like to keep anything you make, I charge a small fee of £5 per piece to bisque fire it, or £10 to bisque and glaze. If you book onto a course, or multiple classes, you will get to fire a certain number of pieces for free before these fees apply.
